Henk Visch

Wait and see what happens

Henk Visch has been creating poetic visual riddles about the conditio humana in his sculptures, drawings and texts for more than twenty-five years. However, Henk Visch is not a storyteller; instead he creates his own stage set and his own atmosphere in order to display balance and metamorphosis. His stylistically varied works are like actors on the stage, filling the exhibition space – imagined here as a pathway – with curious presence and magic. In the fine post-surrealist style of the Belgian tradition, he imagines and muses in quiet, impressive visual fragments.
The catalogue carries out a scholarly investigation of these aspects,, biographical notes from the artist and previously unpublished archival material is presented as well as the photographic documentation of the exhibition in Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt.
