Petra Weifenbach

Photography, objects, installations, drawings, and the performative game are all means of expression and communication used by Petra Weifenbach in her approach to her own and our reality and she also uses these to investigate the processes of perception, of renaming, and ultimately of alienation.
Authenticity, imagination, a wealth of ideas and her own language of expression characterise the work of Weifenbach and equally create a new and different reality. Her unusual art products, usually made with simple materials, she opens up a view of reality in a new and humorous, and often ironic way. This provokes confusion and changes our everyday ways of seeing, thus demanding a new kind of perception.
