Jorinde Voigt

DUAL

The graphic structures of Jorinde Voigt are both fine and powerful; first these are determined according to the artist’s own parameters: this drawing as representation of subjective thought processes. In the notations – nothing more than arrows, numbers, prosaic note-taking – dynamic labyrinths grow in these mysterious works; extremely complex systems that appear chaotic but are in fact defined by rhythm and order. These are modes, visualisations of spontaneously recorded realities that conceal themselves behind everyday experiences like the daily temperature, a few beats of music or a kiss. The seven diptychs are presented in accordion-fold style, thus accentuating their structure.
