Lorenz Estermann

instant city

In “instant city”, Austrian installation artist Lorenz Estermann (born 1968) presents us with works on paper together with models that enter into an exciting dialogue with the art forms of painting/drawing, sculpture, architecture and photography. Estermann’s works generated enthusiasm among the public at the recent Art Cologne art fair. The focus of Estermann’s work is spread equally across the disciplines of drawing, photography and installation/sculpture. The artist uses the plywood and cardboard models as references to the various media and how they can be transformed, creating surprising cross references to architecture.
