Neue Arbeiten aus der Vergangenheit REUSCH

The painting and sculptural work of architect Erich Reusch is as diverse as it is compelling: the main theme of Reusch’s work is space, as he searches constantly for the particular tension that intensifies between the differing points of view, specific experiences of movement and the experience of transitions, leaps and transformations.

Nothing that the viewer looks at can be viewed quietly, his or her gaze moves between the colours and shapes that invariably demand quite different ways of looking. The eye loses its fixed hold on the work and is led from the simple, holistically accessible form to the open space. Erich Reusch’s art exists in that which opens up between the visible and extends across what can be seen. Above all, it addresses the space that originates from what can be seen in the viewer himself or herself.
