SIMONE HAACK

The Others

Simone Haack’s paintings and drawings resonate with a subtle horror. The protagonists in the pictures, frequently figures at a point of transition, provide an in-depth insight into a discomfiting inner world which often oscillates between a childish rejection of the world and the secrets of the adult world.
The artist succeeds in maintaining an artistic balance between soberness and nightmare.
Curiosity leads us to follow her aesthetic adventure holiday, dive into fictitious visual worlds, which can suddenly seem unpleasantly real – and just like her protagonists to fear what awaits us in a world that exists between dream and reality.
