Vor aller Augen

Fotografie aus Leipzig / Photography from Leipzig / Photographie de Leipzig

What new means of narrative and perception can photography find in order to show that it can continue the Documentary Paradigm? And how much awareness is there of the fact that this attitude not only creates visual facts, but also gives them meaning? Indeed, photography is no mere representation of reality; it is an image.

The catalogue “Vor aller Augen” presents fifteen positions from Timm Rautert’s master class at the Leipzig School of Fine Arts; students who work predominantly in the field of photography but also with video art and sculpture.
