Matrix & Lemniscate, a collaboration between the artist Jorinde Voigt and composers Patric Catani and Chris Imler, addresses the issue of what happens when a mortal being is faced with an unending movement: Jorinde Voigt draws structures that are energised by real and imaginary phenomena to investigate the finite boundaries of systems. Following Voigt’s work, Catani and Imler have brought the “lazy 8“ of the infinity motif into the gallery space as an acoustic cluster – an artistic and musical collaboration that confronts our material and physical existence with an omnipresent, immaterial world, raising questions about the individual, finite human condition in the face of an all-embracing, infinite passing of time. biography 1977 born in Frankfurt on the Main 1999–2001 studies on Fine Arts / Multimedia at the UdK Berlin under Prof. Christiane Moebus 2001 studies on Fine Arts / Visual Culture Studies / Photography at the UdK Berlin under Prof. K.
