Usable Areas – OWL3
The term ‘usable area’ attains a new significance in the face of art: artists transform landscapes beyond all functional purpose into intellectual and emotional projection surfaces – whether idyllic Arcadia, a mysterious ancient forest, as public green belts or also as vacant lots in urban spaces.
In today’s confusing state between ‘local’ and ‘global’, artistic mappings are able to make what is invisible visible and to contribute to an own personal siting. For this reason, Marta Herford focuses its attention for a third time with the exhibition and accompanying catalogue on the work of artists who are biographically connected to the region of Ostwestfalen-Lippe (OWL).
