Ruhr Art Scene – fifty positions, ten museums, one exhibition

Starting in September 2014, as part of the “RuhrKunstSzene” exhibition, ten RuhrKunstMuseen (art museums in the Ruhr region that have joined together to form a network) will present a panorama of current art in the Ruhr region. This shared presence by ten museums is intended to raise awareness of the extraordinary variety of artistic practice in the Ruhr region and its artistic tradition and identity: painting, sculpture, photography, new media, installation and performance. The “RuhrKunstSzene” exhibition features fifty artistic positions, some of which are recent works by the artists involved, some of which have a more historic status.
