Photography and Overpainted Photographs by Johann Georg Müller
Johann Georg Müller (1913–1986) was a renowned painter and graphic artist during his lifetime. Since the 1990s he has been rediscovered, attracting particular attention for his large-scale abstract paintings and woodcuts.
However, his photographic work from the 1960s and 1970s was largely forgotten. This volume now documents this work in detail: the overpainted photographs are reproduced in full, large numbers of black and white photographs, nudes, still lifes and landscapes complete the review. The art historical analysis is provided in two essays by Sabine Elsa Müller and Urs Roeber.
