Henning Eichinger. Synchronizing Systems

Since the beginning of the 1990s, Henning Eichinger has deliberately reflected our digital age without resorting to a computer-generated mode of practice. His complex and sensual paintings are based on a technique of collage. Eichinger himself speaks of "inspiring the image" and contrasts digital image processing with his analogue "image creation programme". His oil paintings and miniatures, which in recent times have featured figurative elements, are characterised by a wealth of detail, intensity and simultaneity. This catalogue depicts Eichinger's many new multi-layered images, which more than ever are arbitrary diagnoses of the times.
