Uwe Schloen - Sculpture
Works 1986 – 2016
Uwe Schloen has been working for thirty years in the fields of sculpture and installation. His best-known pieces are his early wooden figures and his works in lead, such as the Bunkerdorf (Bunker village) in the Giardino di Daniel Spoerri in Tuscany. Schloen finds lead an interesting material due to its equally protective and dangerous qualities. He has created large, heavy sculptures for his bus stop project, OK.GO, which covers the distance from Luxembourg to Estonia. An imaginary bus trip connects these new cultural sites. This book is the first to present an overview of Schloen’s oeuvre, from the early pieces to the architectonic sculptures.
