Brigitte Kraemer
Mann und Auto, Die Bude, Im guten Glauben. Reportagen und Fotografien von 1985 bis heute
Critical reportages with a great closeness to people and the occasional twinkle in her eye that is a hallmark of the photographic work of Brigitte Kraemer. Since the mid-nineteen-eighties, the Herne-based photographer has been working for major newspapers and magazines, and doing research into homeless “Mädchen auf Trebe“ (Runaway Girls) or glue-sniffers in the punk and squatter scene, telling with her camera of intense relationships in the series “Mann und Auto” (Man and Car), or observing architectures typical of the Ruhr region such as refreshment kiosks with their operators and users in “Die Bude” (The Kiosk). The LUDWIGGALERIE Schloss Oberhausen and the book accompanying the exhibition, which also includes an interview with the photographer, now provide an overview of Brigitte Kraemer’s oeuvre for the first time.
