Candice Breitz
Love Story
With her videos and photographs, the South African artist Candice Breitz addresses the complex social and cultural processes that shape individuals. Her most well-known works therefore examine the effect of popular mass culture on consumers and their personality. Her own film recordings as well as found material such as music videos and cinema or television films serve as source material for the large-scale video installations.
This publication provides insight into Breitz’s multifaceted, internationally renowned oeuvre and presents a new work created in conjunction with the exhibition “Candice Breitz: Ponderosa” at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart.
