Barbara Quandt
Tell me what is Art / Autobiografie
Barbara Quandt, born and raised in Berlin, found her own, inimitable style in the effervescent 1970s among the circle of the so-called Neue Wilde, or New Savages. Her dynamic, intensely colorful paintings oscillate between figurative visual narratives and abstract compositions; at the same time they also reflect her personal experiences, countless journeys, and sojourns abroad. Quandt puts these very personal experiences to paper with a great deal of wit and charm, while offering viewers of her pictures and readers of this autobiography the opportunity to discover the stories behind her world of images.
