Clara Brörmann
The monograph gives a broad insight into Clara Brörmann’s work of the last four years. Christine Nippe speaks with the artist about the possibilities of abstract painting in an interview. Ellen Blumenstein writes in her text: “In Brörmann’s painting, the invisible is not the inaccessible truth (in the hereafter), but rather the sum of ideas, experiences, technical expertise, and painterly reference that are revealed in the picture and nonetheless remain effective . . .” Inherent in Brörmann’s oeuvre is a subtle feeling for lightness and irony, which already resonates in the dictum “pursuit of happiness,” after which her upcoming exhibition at SCHWARZ CONTEMPORARY is named.
