Myriam Holme

Myriam Holme’s works are poetic pictorial compositions, which oscillate between densely compacted and glittering surfaces, glossy and matt structures, delicate and solid elements. The artist works with familiar elements or objects, which lose their familiarity due to the materials used: the result is acrylic on stain, lightly applied paint on bamboo rods and crystalline stones on dull platforms. The sensual linking of materials that differ in feel and the surpassing of spatial limits render impossible an encounter with rational thought structures. Holme’s emotionally composed vocabulary of form challenges us to trust our senses and feelings, prompting us to immerse ourselves, abandon ourselves to the chaos of small, sensual perceptions of time and to lose ourselves within them, to unite ourselves with the finest in disappearing time differentials.
