Children visit artists and their works
This book does not have seven seals but instead seven chapters on seven contemporary works of art and their artists – seen through children’s eyes and made for children’s eyes.
Arising from the guided tours for children in the Museum der bildenden Künste (Museum of Fine Arts) in Leipzig and based on the observations, approaches and questions of its young visitors, the aim of this volume is to introduce children to art.
To do this, seven artists played host and put themselves forward to address the children’s questions. These “interviews“, together with photos, are now available. In addition, large-scale works, associative texts, an open design, as well as drawings, sketches and stories created specially for this book, invite both young and old to engage unselfconsciously with contemporary art.
