We love Animals.
400 Jahre Tier und Mensch in der Kunst
Our relationship to animals is ambivalent. On the one hand, we love animals, and on the other, we produce and eat them in huge numbers. Never before has this topic been of such relevance. Under the title We love Animals, the Kunstmuseum Ravensburg is dedicating an extensive exhibition to animals. Inspired by the work Eine Cobra Gruppe (1964), from the collection of Peter and Gudrun Selinka, the examines the relationship between humans and animals from the sixteenth century until today and traces the development of an empathetic animal-human relationship based on over 100 works from public and private collections. The accompanying publication includes works from 400 years of art history and the most recent research initiatives on the topic.
