John Kippin
Based on a True Story
John Kippin (*1950) has been a central figure in the emergence of photography as an independent art form in the UK since the 1970s and 1980s. Kippin’s interest in landscape lies in its social and economic co-ordinates. This new publication brings together eight essays in honour of the artist’s contribution to the medium by leading scholars and curators including the Director of The Photographers‘ Gallery, Brett Rogers. The publication includes a chapter on Kippin’s latest body of work ‘Romanitas‘, examining the fascist architecture of the EUR zone of Rome, discussed by curator Russell Roberts.
