The World on Paper
Deutsche Bank Collection
What fascination does the medium paper exert for international artists? The first presentation of the Deutsche Bank Collection’s new exhibition series, presented at the “PalaisPopulaire” in the Prinzessinnenpalais in Berlin, is dedicated to this question. With around 300 highlights and new discoveries, The World on Paper shows how the everyday and at the same time sensual material paper again and again opens up surprising possibilities, also in an era of innovative technologies. The exhibition focuses on both haptic and visual as well as design facets. The accompanying publication also documents the fact that works on paper in particular give rise to connections with other media—such as installation, performance, sculpture, or film—and hence visualize current art in all its breadth.
