René Hüls
Opera Aperta
Opera aperta, open artwork: in his work, the sculptor and conceptual artist René Hüls skillfully juxtaposes sociopolitical questions with the situation of the individual affected by them. Interwoven with biographical influences and narrative strategies borrowed from the romantic fable, he creates astonishing constellations in which sound, technical artifacts, and contemporary discourses are overlaid and become allegories for our postindustrial and posthuman present. The book provides a vivid overview of Hüls’s artistic development.
