John Wesley
Works on paper 1961–2005
This John Wesley (born 1928 in Los Angeles, lives in New York) retrospective includes approx. 100 drawings and gouaches from Wesley‘s studio and private American and German collections. Wesley‘s distinctive line, inspired by comics, his American themes and his enigmatic eroticism had a marked influence on the shape of both Pop Art and the younger generation of painters. The Krefelder Kunstmuseen are making a first attempt at shedding light on the artist‘s wide-ranging oeuvre in terms of the processes by which it came into being.
