Marie Raymond Yves Klein
For the first time, the works of Yves Klein are being presented in relation to those of his parents. Particularly impressive is the focus on the work of Yves Klein’s mother, Marie Raymond (1908 – 1972), who unfortunately is completely unknown in Germany. It is largely thanks to her artistic qualities that both mother and son intensively exchanged artistic ideas and inspired each other.
This volume brings together all the most important creative phases of both artists, beginning with the childhood drawings of the young Yves, examples of the work of his father, at the time a successful artist, who today enjoys little regard, and the developmental stages in the work of Yves Klein, who improved his artistic creativity with a short period of time and achieved unexpected levels of productivity.
