Dagmar Varady

This catalogue provides insight into the works and projects of Dagmar Varady, all created between 2000 and 2006. Her focus is on pictorial work: from clearly defined visualisations to pictures characterised by blurring, obscurity, unpredictability and also androgyny. Nature is the essential theme of these works, nature as the representation of a cultural code. The work of Varady is based around media reflection. And so, diverse media like film, video, photography, computer animations, drawings and installations all play their part. These elements are used to transfer the idea of a “different” nature to the pictorial sphere.
