Klaus Lomnitzer

A total of 15 copies of this Collector’s Edition have been published. Each one consists of a lithograph on a transparency (74.5 x 30.5 cm), which the artist has painted, signed, and numbered; the edition includes a companion publication, Klaus Lomnitzer. In his art Klaus Lomnitzer questions the world that is accessible and open to him; he questions it so urgently that its limitations, as well as the artist’s desire to overcome them, become evident. At the same time his art is both loyal to the object as well as freed from it. With a view to the technical opportunities posed by new visual media, he realizes dreamlike paintings with encapsulated memories and associative recognitions.
