Studium bei Timm Rautert

From 1993 to 2007, Timm Rautert taught photography at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (Academy of Visual Arts) in Leipzig. His teaching was extremely influential on the development of art photography. In Leipzig, Rautert also held a master class; its development is portrayed in this publication. Works from all forty students are shown.
As well as images there essays dealing with essential issues, like for example, the change of the photographic image from the 1990s to 2008. During this period, the development of technical images moved away from the analogue connection to reality to the experimentation of the digital. The issue of the potential new role of photography in the art academy and of the value of documentary photography with regard to this paradigm change when constructing new worlds is investigated.
