Paul Schwer
Orion. Installation, Plastik, Malerei
Paul Schwer has for years been rigorously pursuing a concept of painting in which the parameters colour, space, light and movement play an integral role. The works presented here are the result of a very individual journey from the picture on canvas into three-dimensional space: from a pictorial object created from colour, via its movement-motivated transformation into coloured schemes, to the ‘spatialization’ of colour. The artist brings this about using support materials as transparent as to tend towards the immaterial and with the active participation of light that results from this.
An integral component of Paul Schwer’s artistic concept is to develop his works with respect to the particular site, taking into consideration both the spatial and the historical situation that he finds there.
