WURZELN
Examining one’s roots is a way of returning to ourselves; our roots can be found in our origins. The connection between these origins and the way we deal with them creates our identity and a feeling of belonging.
WURZELN is the first volume of a series of art books that present the Petra Rietz Salon in Berlin and the work exhibited there. The salon continues the tradition of the literary salon of the 19th and 20th century and concentrates especially on contemporary photography. Artists and publishers, collectors and lovers or art meet here, as well as a generation of artists who examine the theme of roots in their work and connects this to memory. Participating artists include Volker Eich, Dinu Li, Karen Oostenbrink, Petra Rietz, Florian Schwarz and SpringerParker.
