Angela Glajcar
Works in paper and plastic from 2007 to 2009
The artist Angela Glajcar creates expansive sculptures from torn paper and plastic. These sculptures are characterised above all by a juxtaposition of lightness and weight, transience of the moment and material presence as well as by light and shadow. The works float freely in the space or form solid blocks, featuring materials that appear light and fragile yet always exhibit a strong sculptural presence. Strict geometric forms are broken up by torn edges or openings, resulting in fascinating spaces of complete harmony and tranquillity.
This catalogue covers Angela Glajcar’s works dating from 2007 to 2009, including her large paper installations in Kunstverein Ludwigshafen, in Wiesbaden and Frankfurt am Main and her exhibitions in the Roman church ruins at Abbaye d´Alspach, Kaysersberg and the Kunstverein Siegen.
