East Bound
The title, “East Bound“, is taken from the London Underground, and brings together five artists from Eastern Europe, who either live in Western Europe or commute between the two. They all make use of the idea of changing locations as part of their art practice and thus make a contribution towards bridging the present gap between different cultures.
“East Bound“ presents five confident, conceptual artists from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia. As well as famous names like Pavel Pepperstein und Ján Mančuška, we also encounter members of the new generation: Goshka Macuga, Markéta Othová and Anna Parkina, who work with different media in order to demonstrate the state of current art practice in Eastern Europe.
