Stefan Fahrnländer
Sea Level
The works of the painter Stefan Fahrnländer, who worked with 3-D computer programmes for more than fifteen years, display his use of technology through their digital method of creation as well as their motifs. The artificial light and the chemical feel of the colours of the primeval forest-like scenes and drowned landscapes, all with no “real” concrete foundation, are not based on photographs or suchlike, Fahrnländer demonstrates boundary limits in a limitless landscape. In these disturbing compositions – techno-landscape paintings, as it were – the struggle between culture and nature remains – apparently – an open issue.
