Eva Teppe
The video and photo artist Eva Teppe has included recent works, created during her funded study visits in New York, Paris and Tokyo, in this attractively designed artist’s book, forging them together to create an impressive whole. Teppe often works with found footage: collected film and photographic material or everyday scenes. In her art practice, she distils this footage down to focus on a specific moment that defines a specific situation, while at the same time calling the collective meaning of everyday reality into question. This technique of alienation means that the material – often documentary in style – attains new meaning as well as poetic intensity.
