Transformed Objects
Transformations and metamorphoses of objects have become an ever more popular theme of contemporary art in recent years.
The “reification” of the body contrasts with the psychologisation of the world of things and goods. The look below the surface of the visual environment is combined with aspects of the surrealist tradition, which is interpreted in very diverse and unexpected ways by the artists of "Transformed Objects". The focus is on three-dimensional objects, sculptures and installations, clearly demonstrating that surrealism has lost little of significance in contemporary art.
