Ernesto Tatafiore
Futuristi - Kampf Maschine
As lyrical idealistic anarchists armed with hats, suits, and bow ties, the Futurists geared up to do battle in the early 20th century in Italy against a society of aesthetic apathy, complacency, and stagnation.
In his latest compositions, the Italian artist Ernesto Tatafiore takes up the vibrantly colorful dynamics of Futurism, countering motorized Combat Machines with the provocative poetry of the avant-gardists and contrasting "Combat Vests" and "Combat Ties" with "Antipodes": female figures who zestfully bring into play the untamable power of their femininity.
