In his series of images “Interiors”, Marcus Schwier plays with the motif of the interior space of baroque palaces in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His virtuoso camera view displays historic reception halls, magnificent rooms and elegant private homes. Breathtaking perspectives change the existing space into a tableau, while equally enabling the perception of the details within the space. Shadow and light are in fact the real actors, invigorating these images in a moment of frozen time. This stasis reveals the secret interplay between the enduring and fading of the past; the inner spaces of the palaces draw us in.
