OBJEKT ATLAS
Feldforschung im Museum
As far back as the early 1980s, the Weltkulturen Museum was something of a pioneer in establishing dialogue between contemporary art and ethnological museums through its collection of non-European contemporary art. It shows how artistic involvement with ethnographic artefacts in the museum can look. Objects from the collection interface with recent works by international artists.
The artistic works are complemented by historical facsimiles and unpublished essays by renowned authors such as Richard Sennett and Paul Rabinow, as well as interviews with the participating artists.
