Bente Stokke
This publication provides a comprehensive insight into the oeuvre of Berlin-based Norwegian artist Bente Stokke. The works presented here, dating from 1980 to the current day, revolve around the raw materials of ash and dust, which in this case are used to investigate the phenomenon of passing time.
The book documents Stokke’s large-scale installations, which respond powerfully to their surroundings, as if they are intervening in them, before they often turn to dust again when the exhibition is over. Also included are new “drawing objects” and numerous delicate drawings which emerge from the volatile material.
