Anja Buchheister

From space to the plane and back again – Anja Buchheister’s works straddle the line between two-dimensionality and three-dimensionality. Buchheister works with photographs, line drawings and cutting-out and folding techniques. From her archive of images, she creates elements for cut-out objects and large-scale installations where tension is created by surreal re-interpretations of depicted realities. Her work is based on the conceptual exploration of paradigms surrounding the experience of reality, the perception of space and the representation of space that have been taken for granted in our society.
