Over the centuries, fashions in the art market have been manifest in diverse forms. The book brings together works from the 16th century until today and sheds light for the first time on the broad field that interconnects art and buying.

Amiet, my life’s joy

The Eduard Gerber collection
The 50th anniversary of Cuno Amiet will be in 2011. This catalogue provides a remarkable impression of the finest and most significant Amiet collection in Switzerland.
The collection of 100 works by Amiet, grew out of the close friendship between the collector Eduard Gerber and the painter, and was of major importance for both men. Works from all of the phases of the artist life allow us to experience the great variety of Amiet’s oeuvre. Equally, they tell the story of a very special friendship.
In addition to works from the Gerber collection, the catalogue also includes selected works by the artist from the collection of Kunstmuseum Bern.
