Bogdan Rața (b. 1984) is an artist, artistic director of Kunsthalle Bega and initiator of the Pavilion Library. He earned his PhD from the West University of Timișoara and is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Design Timișoara. He had personal exhibitions at Slag Gallery New York, Farideh Cadot Gallery Paris, National Museum of Contemporary Art Bucharest, Nasui Collection & Gallery Bucharest and Calina Foundation Timișoara. Bogdan Rața has participated in curatorial projects in the frame of the 4 Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, the Independents Liverpool Biennale, 55 Venice Biennale and 10 St. Petersburg Manifesta. In 2018, he exhibited in the 8th edition of the Bucharest Biennale. His monumental works have been exhibited within the Moving Monuments project in Liverpool, Brussels, Cascais, Porto, Kiev.
In 2017, he was invited as a visiting professor at the Academy of Art and Design in Bratislava and in partnership with the Calina Foundation, he was a co-coordinator of the ARTISTHETEACHER educational project. Bogdan Rața is the co-founder of Kunsthalle Bega and Bega ArtPrize.
