In her innovative work, the artist Anita Edenhofer (*1982) examines the revelations and projections that can come about as a result of darkness. The sculptor turned early on to the phenomena of an immaterial substance that causes the dark surrounding space to unfold. The fact that this surrounding space with its stagings of the subject correlates with night intensifies the visual effect of her conceptual approach. The publication presents the results of her dissertation, Presence in Absence: The Use of Electric Light in Fine Art Installations and simultaneously showcases her poetic works engaging with the semiotics of light.
