Annedore Dietze

The expressive painter Annedore Dietze (*1972) deals in her works with corporeality and all living things. In her painting, plants and animals become motifs of vitality and fragility. She shows people from their (self-)destructive side. What is found in her art is hence an existential concept of human beings and their bodies—raw and direct and vulnerable and mysterious at the same time. Oil paintings and works on paper from various phases of her work are juxtaposed with works created specifically for this exhibition in the Städtischen Galerie in Dresden. The accompanying publication spans a period of two decades of examining the spectrum of creaturely life in pictures.
