In terms of a “Collection of Collections”, the catalogue accompanying this exhibition takes as its subject the actual act of showing itself. Six individual, private collections from Bielefeld (Hörmann, Christof Kerber, Kölsch & Welschof, OWL Holding, Teutloff Photo + Video Collection and Wannenmacher) include important works by contemporary artists, among them Imi Knoebel, Olaf Nicolai, Susan Philipsz, Richard Prince and Bridget Riley. An artistic and photographic reflection of each collection, developed in cooperation with the Design faculty at the University of Bielefeld, completes the concept.
