Christoph Drange travelled to Venezuela in early 2013. He focused his attention on the phenomenon of a socialist society that retains several vestiges of capitalism and is characterised by a culture of inequality. His photographs show the encounter between the aspiration and reality of a socialist country, which actually isn't one. Hecho En Socialismo – Socialism Today in Venezuela is more than a documentary snapshot. It is primarily a reflection and self-questioning on the current potential of a socialist alternative in the face of an all-encompassing, global capitalism.
