Clemens Tremmel’s (*1988) works, paintings in oil on aluminum or brass, seek the field of tension of extremes. The powerful, romantic-anti-romantic nature panoramas are defined by the four primal elements. On the one hand, there are Nordic, cool, compact, and quiet scenes that make it possible to experience the original state of nature, while, on the other, there is the sensuousness of the Asian cultural region with its energy emanating from the vegetative as well as religious diversity. In a second step, Tremmel often disrupts the, at first, precise, old-master-like formulation of the pictorial details in a radical way. The shifting, crossfading, or destruction of elements in the work or contrasting overpainting make it possible to recognize his topic and have great communicative power.
