Since her childhood, E. R. Nele, daughter of documenta founder Arnold Bode, has been deeply involved in the international art world. Now, on the occasion of her 80th birthday, “Yesterday & Tomorrow” presents sculptures and installations produced by the artist between 1985 and 2011.
Nele’s works, which are both solid and delicate, cover themes such as lightness and weight, balance and the structuring of spatial dimensions. They reveal the artist’s love of play, her preference for industrial materials and the people at the heart of her world of motifs.
