ESTHER STOCKER
Mad Geometry
For Esther Stocker, the dissolution and fragmentation of precise shapes is the starting point for paintings, photographic works, installations and interventions on façades. Her geometric sign- and grid systems are also extended into the third dimension and are altered by the artistic interventions of space and architecture, with intentional disruptions and visual caesuras forming a key element. This art book documenting Stocker’s extensive work is supplemented by an art-history essay by Karine Tissot and Monika Machnicki as well as an in-depth conversation between Günther Oberhollenzer and the Vienna-based artist.
