Private insights: for his work Mitte des Lebens (Middle of Life), the photographer Frederik Pajunk (1970) accompanied people in his surroundings for a two-year period of time. With his pictures, he provides personal insights into the day-to-day life of his protagonists and encourages them in incisive interviews to look back at their life thus far and try to look into the future. He consequently creates a space for projection and reflection in which viewers are invited to become aware of turning points in their own life. Ellen Dietrich wrote the foreword to the book. With her essay Jetzt (Now) Julia Schoch adds a universal voice from the middle of life and shares with us the observation that some things first have to be photographed in order to be seen.
